COOKE AND FLIPPIN PLANNING TO RETURN....

Steve Cooke and Travis Flippin have indicated they plan to return to action at East Lincoln Speedway this coming Saturday night for the Keith Hawthorne Ford Tarheel Classic for Micro-Sprints.

The $1,000 to win 25-lapper is expected to attract several non-regular faces including a possible Pennsylvania entry as well as a couple from eastern North Carolina.

CORRECT CALL MADE SATURDAY....

It is obvious the early call to postpone action at ELS this past Saturday was the correct decision.

"We made the call about 1:30 p.m. in order to give everyone an opportunity to make other plans for the evening," said track manager James Honeycutt. "With the price of fuel, we’ll probably be making decisions earlier in the day concerning inclement weather possibilities than in the past because there’s no use costing fans and competitors money when it can be avoided."

It was raining at the 3/8-mile clay oval again at 9 p.m. Saturday evening.

"We made the proper decision without a doubt," concluded Honeycutt.
